Venetian Masks

Venetians are known for their dazzling masks worn through the days and nights of the Venice carnival. The
carnival that had run from 1296 to celebrate the end of winter was banned in the late eighteenth century for
200 years before being “reinvented” in 1980 and turned into the Carnival of Venice of do day with its mix of tradition, entertainment, history fantastic masks and parties.
